Report from work group on Deans' Offices: Organization and Operations

The work group has met two times and had lengthy and productive discussions. We identified the following tasks to be undertaken by the group.

Workgroup Tasks

We have focused on the first four items, accomplishing these tasks:

  1. examined current office structure (organizational charts) from both Deans' offices
  2. obtained brief job descriptions for each staff member
  3. gathered information on Deans' office structure from all ISU colleges
  4. prepared a matrix of all functional responsibilities of the Deans' offices and of all positions in both colleges– see attached file.

We will have each person complete the matrix of functional responsibilities for their own job. Based on this information, we have begun envisioning the structure of a new dean's office.

The work group will continue meeting and working throughout the summer.
