Academic Integrity in Final Exams and Online Assessments
October 30, 2020
Maintaining the integrity of final exams and other assessments, amid the broader increase in online and hybrid instruction, is a frequent concern for faculty during the fall semester. The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching offers a variety of academic integrity resources to instructors, including tools to lock down browsers for secure exam administration, and Turnitin plagiarism software.
The Academic Continuity Working Group and Teaching Technology Advisory Committee have been working on the issue of academic honesty for the last several months, and are in the process of reviewing existing technologies that may be adapted to serve Iowa State University’s needs. The Dean of Students Office also stands ready to assist instructors who identify instances of cheating through the student conduct process.
