Ellen has 26 years of experience in the academic division. She joined the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost in 2016 after serving 20 years as fiscal officer in the College of Engineering, and also spent two years in Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Ellen also has four years of industry and five years of public accounting experience.

Ellen leads budget development, capital projects, and resource planning for the division, including the development of fiscal strategy, allocating resources appropriate to achieve institutional priorities, ensuring balanced budgets, and promoting fiscal responsibility and accountability.

Ellen works closely with her colleagues on the Institutional Budget Management Team, fiscal officers in the academic colleges and units, and chief business officers in the divisions of Student Affairs, and Operations and Finance.
