Shawn Marie Boyne
Director of Academic Quality and Undergraduate Education
Shawn comes to the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost from Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law where she served as a professor as well as a faculty fellow in Indiana University's Office of Planning and Institutional Improvement. She also created a successful diversity pipeline program for the law school. During the 2018-19 academic year, Shawn served as an ACE Fellow in residence at James Madison University.
In this role, Shawn provides leadership and coordination within the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost for academic program effectiveness including program review and accreditation, undergraduate student success initiatives, and outcomes assessment.
Shawn has attended several land grant institutions- earning a B.A. from Cornell University, an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota, and a Ph.D. (political science) from the University of Wisconsin. Prior to entering academia, Shawn served as a child abuse and sex crimes prosecutor in the State of New Mexico and subsequently as a contract public defender. She is a graduate of University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
In her spare time, Shawn enjoys Pilates and bike riding.
