Marvin A. Pomerantz Award

Purpose:

The Pomerantz Award is an opportunity to recognize a tenured faculty member deemed outstanding in teaching, research, and/or outreach.  

Eligibility:

Professors who exemplify outstanding service in teaching, research, and/or outreach. Eligibility is rotated among the academic colleges based on the following rotation:

  • FY24 – College of Human Sciences 
  • FY25 – College of Veterinary Medicine
  • FY26 – College of Engineering
  • FY27 – College of Liberal Arts and Sciences 
  • FY28 – Ivy College of Business
  • FY29 – College of Design
  • FY30 – College of Agriculture and Life Sciences 

Nature of the award:

One-time award of approximately $4,000 to be used to support scholarly activities. Award is conferred July 1 and funds must be expended by the end of the fiscal year on June 30

Guidelines for Submitting Nominations for the Marvin A. Pomerantz Award

The Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost administers the award and the funding that is provided to the faculty member and rotates the award among the colleges. Each college will establish its own internal vetting process but should include a letter of nomination summarizing how the candidate meets the award eligibility, a current Position Responsibility Statement, and an updated curriculum vitae.

Nominations are due to the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost by February 10.
