Why do you mentor?
It is fulfilling to sow seeds in the lives of tomorrow’s leaders and problem-solvers. In addition, I have been the beneficiary of excellent mentorship; I must pay it forward. Further, as an African American female scholar, I am keenly aware of how underrepresented some groups are in higher education, especially at a historically White institution. I have a responsibility to invest in others.
