Bio
Dr. Catherine Showalter manages postdoctoral affairs at Iowa State University, overseeing onboarding/orientation, professional development, policy oversight and compliance, support services, and outcomes reporting. Catherine earned a BA in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and an MA and a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Utah. Prior to joining ISU in 2025, she was an Assistant Teaching Professor at Northeastern University and supported students taking part in high-impact practices, serving as the Associate Director for the Office of Undergraduate Research at North Carolina State University and the Director of Experiential Education at the University at Albany (SUNY).
