Meeting April 20 in Ames, the state Board of Regents approved promotion and tenure requests for 75 Iowa State faculty, effective for the 2023-24 academic year.
Beate Schmittmann, professor of physics and astronomy and dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS), will retire from Iowa State on June 30, 2024.
Iowa State is a Top-Producing Institution in the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program for 2022-23, as announced Feb. 10 by the U.S. Department of State. The university's seven scholars placed it among the top 13 among doctoral institutions, tying for the eighth spot with four other universities.
