As Faculty Personnel and Policy Director, Kaela provides expertise for academic human resource administration including faculty personnel policies, processes, and data and provides leadership, vision, and direction in the development of institution-wide policy that impacts faculty success.

Kaela joined Iowa State University in January 1999 as a human resources generalist within Extension and Outreach. She continued with the Office of Vice President for Extension and Outreach in an HR generalist role as a coordinator, liaison, and partner. In June 2019, she moved into University Human Resources within the HR Delivery Team as a Human Resources Partner to serve academic divisions. Kaela joined the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost in December 2021.

Kaela earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in human resource management. She also holds certifications as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
