Dr. Susan Arendt is Online Learning Faculty Fellow and professor of hospitality management at Iowa State University. In her part-time role as faculty fellow, Arendt will provide collaborative leadership for developing a shared vision for online learning at Iowa State University. She will work with the Associate Provost for Academic Programs to enhance and expand the online learning portfolio at Iowa State. 

Arendt has been a faculty member at Iowa State since 2004. Prior to her fellowship appointment, she served as Associate Chair for Undergraduate Academic Affairs in the department of Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management. As hospitality management faculty member, Arendt has taught more than ten different graduate and undergraduate courses using a variety of delivery methods, including online.

Arendt is a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and an accomplished teacher, researcher, and mentor. She has an extensive peer-reviewed publication record focused on human resource management in the hospitality industry. 

Arendt is a native of Iowa and earned her B.S. in Dietetics and Ph.D. in Foodservice Management from Iowa State University. Her M.S. is from Rush University, Chicago, in Clinical Nutrition.
